These photos are the result of exercising a desire to approach and photograph people at random. They're arbitrary documents, the emphasis on the process rather than the end product. Each encounter lasted no more than a minute and resulted in a single photograph.
I don't see these pictures as revealing anything. I know nothing about these people, the ambiguity is what interests me here. A quote from Duane Michals that seems to fit:
"I never believe portraits because people are not what they appear to be."
